The Dorkopotamus and Sports

First of all, I think it is vitally important to share that I am what is known in the wild as a "dorkopotamus."  I can often be seen correcting my own grammar, laughing at my own terrible puns, and tripping over my own two feet.  I am not graceful or super girly.  I play video games and obsess over comic books.  I am a nerd, a geek, a dork...and I am insanely proud of these facts.

I also find most sports to be terribly boring.  Case in point: Olympic hockey - USA versus Canada.  This is what is known to most people as a Big Deal.  There are three sports fans on the couch next to me who are enraptured with the television.  Who will win?!  Excitement!  Nail biting!  Amazing shots!

SNORE

You'd think given my non-uber-girly status that I would be all about sports.  Honestly, I've tried.  I've watched many a game of football, baseball, hockey, what-have-you.  But they have yet to spark my interest.  I find it odd - in my brain, I should like sports.  I want to like sports.  In some ways, I almost feel like I exclude myself from potentially fun situations if they are sports-based.  Like the Super Bowl, for instance.  I just couldn't bring myself to go to the party my friends were hosting, so I spent the day alone with my computer.  It's my own doing, I know.  But try as I might, I got nothing.  I'd rather read.  Or play a game.  Or, apparently, write my first blog post.  :)
